Mission

Practicing hospitality to each other by caring for the destitute through helping them explore their potential for development by identifying their problems, resources and solutions to enhance a self reliant community in collaboration with the government and other development agencies.

Vision

To empower communities with knowledge and skills to enhance their livelihood through integrated sustainable development programs within their environment.

Core values

Our Values are based on five driving factors behind our corporate philosophy, our day-to-day operations and ultimately our success. One of the better ways that we use to help the poor and needy people is to give them a hand up rather than a hand out. Giving them moral support, showing heartfelt humility and respect makes them aware that someone really does care about them and trying to improve their condition. By providing them with the opportunities to improve their condition on their own increases their self-esteem and helps them in overcoming barriers they face every day.

We work with the poor and needy people and help them discover their own capabilities and capacity and putting them to use at the right place at the right time. We support them and let them know that they have something of value which can be used for meeting their basic requirements. These values guide everything we do and shape who we are and how our employees, our partners and the community/Beneficiaries perceive us:

Introduction

Brethren Care and Community Empowerment Foundation (BCCEF) was formed in 2009 but it fully registered with the ministry of internal affairs in 2011 with registration number S.5914/9409. Aware of the many unemployment problems among the youth, poverty, destitute needy and orphaned children in the country brought about by the HIV/AIDS and civil strife in the country and aware that there are efforts through government and non-government organizations to ensure a bright and stable future for the new generation, mindful of the freedom to associate granted by the Uganda constitutional and our inspiration for social and community based development, justice, peace, and national prosperity we therefore resolved to put our brains together to help the needy in the country more so in rural areas hence the idea to start and register BCCEF as an NGO. On one hand, there are people who live their life lavishly. They are not only enjoying the joy of essentials but also have what they want and desire; a luxurious living providing them an extra comfort. On the other hand, there are people who cannot even afford the basic requirements of living. They do not have shelter to live, food to eat, and clothes to wear. People who have extra are living a comfortable and a posh life; while those who have barely the vitals are fighting each day for life. They fail to meet the basic requirements.
